A tribute to one of the most inspiring movie. The design was heavily influenced by the original concepts of the movie, although it`s a different character. I wanted to create my interpretation of an old and wise na`vi clan leader.
The base (lowpoly) model, unwrapping, rigging and posing, all created in 3ds Max, then brought to ZBrush for sculpting the hipoly model and polypainting (base texture), then optimized the texture in Photoshop, brought back to 3ds Max for lighting and rendering (using Vray), and final touch up in Photoshop. This is my transformers version of ''bahamut'' (from the ''final fantasy'' series). It was heavily inspired by ''megatron'' (from the ''transformers'' movie).
The modeling, unwrapping, rigging, posing & animating all done in 3ds Max. Texture creation and post editing in Photoshop. The final model contains around 140k polys, using 4x2048x2048 texture sheets. The video sequences were rendered in 3ds Max scanline renderer, and separated into four passes, the character, shadow, ground, and background, and then brought to After Effect for post editing.
